Awoken by the cries of seagulls overhead, Basil winced as he came to, letting out a painful groan. He reached up to touch the back of his throbbing head only to find that he couldn’t move. Looking around frantically, he realized that he was trapped beneath the beam that had fallen on top of him, along with more rubble from the ceiling. He managed to lift his head enough to look to the right and see the waves lapping against the rocks they had crashed into through several gaping holes in the side of the ship. The Intrepid had been completely destroyed. It was a wonder she hadn’t sunk, though he thanked fortune for that, or else he’d have woken up in Davy Jones’ Locker.
Wondering if any other crew members had survived, he began to call out weakly, trying to gain someone’s attention. Surely they hadn’t all been lost…

I know I've made a lot of these lately... but I CAN'T STOP :la:

Top: Amber meets the notorious Captain Padraic Ratigan. His crew fishes her out of the wreckage of another ship, and they're pretty rough with her and pretty much toss her onto the deck, and she looks up at the fearsome pirate (who looks rather creepy with that expression I gave him no matter how many times I erased his face to try to get it right :rofl: )

Middle left: Basil is saddened while Amber tells what became of the ship she was on and how she came to be so far away from home :(

Middle right: Their first little scene together. While Ratigan decides what to do with her, he has her thrown in the brig, but Basil goes down to check on her and brings a blanket and some food and water. He's the first one to show kindness to her, so that's their first little moment of bonding time I guess :aww: I really want to color this one... I want to color ALL of them, but I really really REALLY want to color this one :eager:

Bottom left: I don't know what Amber did or said, but Ratigan's warning her not to upset him (if you can't read my scratchy handwriting, he's saying "T'would be a shame to mar such a pretty face...") :fear:

Bottom right: Basil and Amber looking up at something while holding each other close.
